Getting to Southern Spain has never been easier! The South of Spain is easily reachable from most European cities since we have five main airports in Andalusia and two neighbouring ones in Portugal and Gibraltar. This makes it even flatter to enjoy the South of Spain for both business and leisure purposes.
The five biggest airports in Andalusia received more than 32 million passengers in 2019 – 12.5 million of them were international visitors. Figures show continuous growth over the years and, according to Eurostat – the European Statistical Office, Andalusia is the 7th most touristic region in Europe. This achievement is based on several aspects, including outstanding weather and world-class infrastructures, quality products and services, remarkable safety, great cultural heritage and activities, and, obviously, gastronomy.
Let’s see more in detail the main destinations in the South of Spain and how to arrive at them:
Malaga (AGP)
Malaga Airport is the third busiest in continental Spain and the primary gateway to Southern Spain. This airport serves Malaga, the Costa del Sol and Marbella. Other MICE destinations that benefit from this airport include the cities of Granada and Cordoba.
Seville (SVQ)
Seville’s airport is the second most relevant airport in Southern Spain, following Malaga. This airport is located within minutes from the capital of Andalusia -Seville, and it can also be used for those heading to Jerez de la Frontera, Cadiz, and Huelva.
